In most cases, application of a single shade is adequate for perfect coverage. Depending on the severity of each case, you may have to neutralize the imperfection, before applying the shade that perfectly matches your skin color. For specific cases of severe skin imperfections : Reddish Discoloration (e.g. angiomas, vitiligo, couperose, freckles, sun spots, acne, psoriasis, burns ) neutralize with shade No 8 first, then any shade to match your skin color . Blue or Black Discoloration (e.g. tattoos, moles, bruises) Cover with shade No 0 first, then match your skin color using other shades.
